HeLLo! This week I will be writing a review on one of my great friend's story that is named, and based, after the Twenty One Pilots song "A car, A torch, A death".
First of all, if you haven't listened to the song, please click the link: A car, A torch, A death
Basically, the story(in short) is about a guy named Tyler whose wife, Jenna, got into a car crash and later on died. The story and the song go hand in hand corresponding the the meaning of it all.
In my opinion, the song is about a wife who is very ill and when she passes, she gives her lover her heart to keep. When he says the "demon stood there waiting on her porch", the demon is the grim reaper the symbolizes death. When he stays for the night, the reaper swoops in, starting to take her. He feels the chill in his bones. He sees that her life is coming to a nearing end. He sees God with a torch ready to guide the way for his wife, Tyler tells God that he'll take the grave in place of his wife. (Like how Jesus died for his people in the Christian faith) "Please just send them my way" refers again to her demons. He would rather face them all than his beloved wife. "I began to understand why god died" means that he knows what its like to love unconditionally and so deeply for someone that you'd tale all their pain and burdens, even if it takes your life.
I absolutely love how Dani wrote this story. It is so perfect. The story is actually accurate and goes along with the song. I also love a story that can make Mr. Ravenda cry. To me, there are no mistakes or plot holes in it. It's very emotionally and once again just PERFECT!
